Warframe Lavos Build Guide

Lavos, apart from the Primes, is the latest and forty-fifth Warframe. In his serpentine theme, he is similar to Saryn. He even uses a similar mechanism for damage spread. However, despite these similarities, he still manages to stand out. Lavos is the only crowd-control Warframe with a playstyle that is unique. It also features an alchemist/sorcerer motif. He can mix elements to create effects like Radiation. Here's a Warframe Lavos guide to help you learn how to use this alchemist.

This Lavos Build Guide will show you how to obtain the Warframe and how its abilities work. I'll also explain how mods can affect Lavos' abilities. Finally, you'll learn the best Lavos build, as well as how best to use it in missions.

How to Get Components and Blueprints for Lavos Build

Deimos sells Lavos blueprints and parts. A NPC named "Father", sells them for Phasic Cells. The blueprint itself costs 1500 Phasic Cells and each of the three components cost 1000 Phasic Cells. Lavos now costs 4500 Phasic cells. You can also get these by completing the Operation: Orphix Venom mission. The drop rate (2-4%) is extremely low. It is best to play a few missions until you are bored. Then, buy all the parts for Phasic Cells.

We also have the Platinum option. If you haven't yet played Heart of Deimos, or don't want to play in the open-world, you can sell parts and grind Void Relics to get Platinum. The Orokin Reactor can be installed on Lavos for 325 platinum.

Lavos Passive Abilities

Cooldowns galore! Lavos was the first Warframe with cooldowns. Warframes traditionally relied on Energy for casting abilities. There were no limits on how many you could use. Lavos has cooldowns. Other Warframes can spam the same abilities multiple times, but Lavos does not. This means that you will always need to wait for your ability to regenerate. However, you won't have to worry about energy.

Due to this mechanism, Ability Efficiency Mods will affect his cooldowns. Lavos is also freed of all negative status effects every time he picks up a Universal Orb, Energy Orb, or both (maximum of one every 5 seconds). He is also immune to all additional status effects for an extra 10 seconds.

Lavos Main Abilities: How Mods Impact Them

Lavos has four main abilities. The cooldowns for Lavos' abilities are listed in brackets because they do not use Energy but rather time as their fuel.

Ability 1, Ophidian Bites (8 seconds): Lavos releases serpents from his arms, forming a cone of 100 degrees in front of himself. This causes Toxin Damage and makes enemies vulnerable to melee finishers. The cone's radius can be increased with Ability Range Mods. Lavos recharges his health by a certain percentage for each enemy that is bitten. Ability Strength mods affect both damage dealt and health gained.

Holding down the Ability key will add Toxic Damage as an elemental to the next ability you cast. This means you can cast the Corrosive/Gas/Viral next time you cast it if you pair the right secondary element with it.

Ability 2: Vial Rush (5 Seconds): Lavos slides along a line of 30 meters, casting vials out of his belt. A trail ice is left behind that deals Cold Damage to enemies nearby. If you have the extra Ability Duration, this lasts even longer. Lavos will create an explosion at the end of his line that also deals Cold Damage. You can also stop his charging animation and release the explosive early. The damage that these effects cause is affected by the Ability Strength.

You can use the same technique as the first to add Cold Damage to his vials. This will be added in his next ability.

Ability 3- Transmutation Probe (10 Seconds): Launches a floating drone that moves in a straight-line and deals Electric Damage to enemies nearby. The drone's radius and path length can be increased by mods for Ability Range. Damage dealt can also be enhanced by Ability Strength. You can also stun the probe by pressing the ability key.

The best part is that each enemy you kill reduces your cooldowns for all abilities by a second. This effect can be further improved by using Ability efficiency mods.

Ability 4, Catalyze (30 Seconds):This one is big. Lavos summons a ring consisting of nine Catalyst Probes, which travel in all directions. They spray flammable Gel on enemies above and below them. The gel causes Heat damage to enemies and damages are doubled if the enemy has an elemental Status Effect. The Probes can be made to travel faster and farther with Ability Range. You can also increase the damage by using Ability Strength.

Best Playstyle and Lavos Build

Lavos is best used in Survival, Defense and Exterminate mission and you should build it accordingly. However, unlike other nuke Warframes such as Saryn Prime, the best way to use Lavos is to move around.

This is the best Lavos build:

  • Projection of Corrosive Material: for the removal of armor, if necessary
  • Augur and Intensify Strength: to add extra ability Strength
  • Duration: for additional Duration
  • Vitality: to improve Health, since you will be so close to your enemies.
  • Blind Rage: to improve Strength at the expense of efficiency
  • Stretching and Augur Reach: to improve ability range - this benefits of Lavos' abilities
  • Fleeting expertise: for improving Efficiency at the expense of Duration

It is important to move around as much as possible, use as many status effects as possible, reduce the cooldowns of your 3 and 4 with your 4, and then nuke your enemies.

Conclusion

Lavos can be a lot of fun to play, as you are able to control all the elements. He also lets you cast any Status Effect. Our Warframe Lavos Build should have helped you better understand his mod effects and abilities. If you're looking to enhance your experience, consider investing in Warframe Platinum to unlock more customization options.
