Arc Raiders A First Foothold Quest Guide

Most quests in Arc Raiders usually have you knocking out a handful of objectives within the same general area, but a small number of missions push you to cover a massive amount of ground. One of the biggest examples of this is A First Foothold, a quest that sends you all over the Blue Gate map to interact with four different locations. Each objective sits on a separate edge of the map—north, east, south, and west—making this one of the longest and riskiest quests you’ll encounter early on. Thankfully, we’re here at Gamer Choice to walk you through every step.

The good news is that you don’t need to complete all of these objectives in a single raid. Each task will count individually, so you can spread them out over multiple runs if needed. On top of that, none of the objectives require extraction to register as complete, which makes this a perfect quest to attempt with a free loadout you won’t be heartbroken to lose if things go sideways.

Below, you’ll find a breakdown of how to complete all four objectives required to finish A First Foothold.

Stabilize the Observation Deck near the Ridgeline

The Ridgeline is found on the eastern side of the Blue Gate map. Since it’s positioned far from the chaotic central areas, it tends to be one of the calmer spots you’ll visit during this quest. While no location is ever completely safe, you’re less likely to encounter heavy resistance here compared to other objectives.

The observation deck itself sits along the outermost edge of the map. Once you reach it, look for one of the interaction prompts on the structure and stabilize the deck. After completing the interaction, you’re free to move on without lingering.

Enable the Comms Terminal near the Olive Grove

The Olive Grove is located in the southern section of Blue Gate. As the name implies, this POI is commonly visited by players farming olives, so it’s often more active than other areas. Keep your guard up, and don’t be afraid to signal friendly intentions if another raider shows up.

You’ll find the comms terminal sitting on a raised platform toward the western side of the Olive Grove. Interact with the computer terminal to enable it and complete this objective, then prepare to move toward your next destination.

Nail down the Roof Plates on the Raider Structure near Trapper's Glade

Trapper’s Glade is positioned on the western side of Blue Gate and is easily one of the more dangerous locations tied to this quest. Bombardiers and other ARC units frequently patrol the area, making stealth a smart option if you’re trying to survive the encounter.

The Raider structure you’re looking for is tucked among dense trees just below the “Trapper’s” label on the map. Climb onto the roof of the structure and interact with it to secure the roof plates. Once that’s done, it’s best to leave the area quickly before attracting unwanted attention.

Rotate the Satellite Dishes on the Church Roof, north of the Data Vault

This final objective takes place in the northern part of Blue Gate. Thanks to its elevated position in the hills and distance from major combat zones, the area around the church is usually fairly quiet. You might still encounter another player working on the same quest, so keep things friendly when possible.

Use the scaffolding along the sides of the church to climb onto the roof. Once you’re up top, interact with the satellite dish to rotate it and complete the final task. If you’ve already finished the other objectives, that wraps up A First Foothold.
