Arc Raiders A Dead End Quest Guide

If you've picked up the A Dead End quest in Arc Raiders, you already know your objective will take you back to Blue Gate for some underground investigating. The subterranean layout can feel a bit disorienting at first, but since you're specifically heading to the fairly compact Security Wing, navigating it shouldn’t be overly complicated. That said, once you arrive, you’ll discover there’s a locked door to deal with and a few key items to track down inside, so let’s break down exactly how to complete every step smoothly.

It’s important to remember that you must extract with a quest item found in the Security Wing. Because of that, bringing an augment with a safe pocket is highly recommended. Doing so guarantees that even if you get eliminated before reaching extraction, you’ll still be able to hand in the objective once you’re back in Speranza.

When you're ready to finish up A Dead End, follow the steps outlined below.

Find MANTIKOR's Underground Facilities

Your first objective is locating MANTIKOR's underground facilities. To do this, make your way to the Security Wing located beneath the central area of the Blue Gate map.

There are several possible entry points into the underground section that grant access to the Security Wing, including routes through the Checkpoint gates and the Headhouse. However, the fastest and most straightforward option is to use the zipline at the small structure highlighted above (the leftmost arrow). Taking this path will drop you directly where you need to be, saving time and reducing unnecessary exposure topside.

Find a way into the Locked Room in the Security Wing

Once you’re inside the underground area, head to the marked location within the Security Wing shown below.

At this spot, you’ll find a large sealed door with a battery console positioned to its right. In order to unlock the door, you’ll need to locate three batteries scattered throughout the Security Wing. These batteries spawn in random locations within the area, so you’ll need to search around and bring each one back to the console to power it up.

Thankfully, the Security Wing is not an especially large point of interest, so tracking down the batteries shouldn’t take too long. This step becomes even easier if you’re playing in a group. You may also encounter other random raiders working on the same task, so cooperating instead of fighting could speed things up significantly.

After inserting all three batteries—or if you happen to arrive and discover someone has already opened the door—you’ll be able to proceed inside the room.

Search the Locked Room for any Records of Project Heartwood

Once inside, walk toward the back of the room where you’ll see a massive screen dominating the wall. To the right of that screen is a machine you can interact with. Look for the prompt labeled "Play Recording" and activate it to advance the quest objective.

After interacting with the recording device, your next task will update, instructing you to locate the Dusty Film Reel. Fortunately, you won’t need to look far.

Find the Dusty Film Reel

Shift your attention to the left side of the large screen. There, you’ll find a searchable container.

Open the container to find the Dusty Film Reel inside. Be sure to interact with it a second time to actually loot and secure the item—simply discovering it won’t automatically add it to your inventory.

Deliver the Dusty Film Reel to Shani

With the Dusty Film Reel in your possession, your final step is to extract successfully. If you brought an augment with a safe pocket, place the reel inside it to protect your progress. From there, exit the underground facility and make your way to the nearest extraction point. Surviving this final stretch is key, as you’ll need to return safely to complete the quest.

After extracting, head back to Speranza and turn the quest in to Shani to officially wrap up A Dead End.
