A new season of ARC Raiders means players have a fresh Expedition to work on. Much like the previous Expedition, you’ll need to gather a large number of materials and donate them to this project in order to progress through its stages.
That said, this season is different from the last one because there are several new items you’ll need to stockpile. Many of these materials had no real purpose before now, which made them easy to sell off or recycle by accident. With Expedition 2 active, those previously “useless” items suddenly matter a lot.

For anyone unfamiliar, new players unlock the Expedition project once they reach player Level 20. If you’ve already wiped, the Expedition will be available right away, so you can begin donating materials immediately.
The Expedition is split into five steps. You must complete each step to unlock the next one, so you’ll be working through this in order rather than skipping ahead.
Here is everything you need for each step of the second Expedition:
| Material | Amount Needed |
|---|---|
| Metal Parts | 150 |
| Plastic Parts | 200 |
| ARC Alloy | 80 |
| Steel Spring | 15 |
| Material | Amount Needed |
|---|---|
| Durable Cloth | 35 |
| Wires | 25 |
| Electrical Components | 20 |
| Cooling Coils | 4 |
| Material | Amount Needed |
|---|---|
| Light Bulb | 4 |
| Battery | 30 |
| Shredder Gyro | 10 |
| Exodus Modules | 1 |
| Material | Amount Needed |
|---|---|
| Frequency Modulation Box | 5 |
| Advanced Electrical Components | 5 |
| Ion Sputters | 3 |
| Leaper Pulse Unit | 3 |
| Material | Amount Needed |
|---|---|
| Combat Items | 200k |
| Survival Items | 100k |
| Provisions | 150k |
| Materials | 300k |
The big items you’ll want to actively watch for are Shredder Gyros, Frequency Modulation Boxes, Ion Sputter, and Cooling Coils. These were materials that had no use until now and are only relevant because of the Expedition. Because of that, a lot of players may have accidentally sold or recycled them earlier in the season without realizing they would become important.
On top of that, Ion Sputter and the Frequency Modulation Box can be frustrating to farm because they are completely exclusive to the Stella Montis map. If you want to complete the Expedition without getting stuck, you’ll likely be doing a lot of runs on Stella Montis specifically to secure those materials.
For the final step, keep in mind that this is essentially a long-term donation goal. This means you can donate any material within the required categories, and it is not intended to be finished instantly or in one single session. For example, do not expect to donate 100,000 worth of Survival items all at once, since it will take consistent playing and steady collecting over time to submit enough.
Because of that, Step 5 will almost certainly take the average player several weeks to complete. This will feel even slower if you’re new and still learning which areas reliably spawn the materials you need.
Even though the idea of losing your progress by committing to the second Expedition can sound scary, the rewards are genuinely valuable for anyone planning to keep playing long-term. Completing the Expedition can grant 12 additional Stash slots, a bonus XP increase, bonus Scrappy materials, up to 5 additional Skill Points, and a unique cosmetic skin tied to the Expedition.
The two biggest rewards are the extra Stash space and the Skill Points. Stash space has an immediate quality-of-life impact, while Skill Points can directly affect how strong and flexible your character feels when Season 3 begins.
The Skill Point reward is based on how many millions worth of money or materials you have when the season ends. Every million equals one additional Skill Point, up to a maximum of five million. That means you can begin Season 3 with up to five extra Skill Points ready to spend right away.
If you choose to wipe, you give up a lot. This includes your player level, all your current Skill Points, all collected items, Work Station upgrades, blueprints, your money, and any quest progression you’ve made.
Also keep in mind that players who do not commit to the Expedition by the end of Season 2 will keep all of their progression and gear. That can put you at a disadvantage compared to them at the start, since they will enter the new season with everything still intact.
However, if you plan to play ARC Raiders for a long time, then wiping is still absolutely worth it. The permanent benefits—especially the Stash upgrades—can reduce a ton of inventory stress and make the game feel smoother overall, which is why the long-term payoff is often better than holding onto short-term progress.
