Unlike What We Left Behind or Greasing Her Palms, the Armored Transports quest in Arc Raiders initially sounds straightforward: head to the Checkpoint area on Blue Gate and open an armored patrol car. However, anyone who has already tried this quest knows that it’s far from being that simple.
Not only is it unclear at first what actually counts as an armored patrol car, but this quest is also surprisingly easy to mess up. If you die while carrying the Patrol Car Key and lose it, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to find another one anytime soon.
Because of that, I highly recommend not running a free loadout for this task. Bring a cheap kit instead so you have access to a safe pocket where you can store the key card. Alternatively, you can skip using a loadout augment entirely, as long as you make sure the key stays protected.
The first step is getting to the Checkpoint location on the Blue Gate map, which sits right in the middle of the area. Once you arrive at Checkpoint, start searching the small guardpost booths positioned along both sides of the main road. Inside these booths, you’re looking for the Armored Patrol Key Card, which can be found lying in a stack of papers on top of the desks.
From experience, the left-most booth seems to be the most consistent spawn point for the Patrol Car Key. As soon as you pick it up, make sure to move it into your safe pocket so you don’t lose it if you get taken out.
With the key secured, head north toward the Outer Gates and Traffic Tunnel areas. Your objective here is to locate an armored patrol vehicle with a locked rear door. These vehicles look like bulky, military-green Volkswagen-style camper vans, making them stand out once you know what to look for.
As shown in the video above, you can find these armored patrol cars in the following spots:

Inside each armored patrol car, you’ll usually find a gun case and, occasionally, an additional container with extra loot. Even after finishing the Armored Transports quest, these vehicles are still worth opening whenever you come across a Patrol Car Key.
Keep in mind that both the Checkpoint and the Traffic Tunnel areas are extremely dangerous. There’s often a Bastion patrolling close to most of the armored vehicles, and since the Security Wing and Maintenance Wing on either side of the tunnel are considered high-tier loot zones, player activity in this area is very high.
If the locked vehicle spawns deep inside the tunnels instead of near the safer entrance, and you’re not prepared to deal with heavy Arc resistance or hostile players — or simply don’t feel confident sneaking through — it’s perfectly reasonable to extract and try again in the next run. With a bit of luck, the patrol car you need will spawn somewhere easier to reach. Just make sure you don’t lose your key.
If you do end up losing the Patrol Car Key, things get more complicated. Replacement keys can appear in random containers across the Blue Gate map, but finding one is entirely luck-based. After personally finding one in Village, that’s a good place to start looking. Raider camps, lockers, and even other vehicles around the map are also worth checking if you’re trying to recover from a lost key.
