Black Myth: Wukong Developer Game Science Announces Sequel, Black Myth: Zhong Kui

Black Myth: Wukong developer GameScience has officially announced a sequel, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, during Opening Night Live 2025.

At the event in Cologne, host Geoff Keighley introduced Zhong Kui as “the ghost-catching deity who roams between hell and earth.” Even with the reveal of this new project, Keighley assured fans that Black Myth: Wukong’s journey isn’t finished yet, hinting that additional DLC content is still planned.

“Inspired by the legendary Chinese tale ‘Zhong Kui Banishing Evil,’ Black Myth: Zhong Kui is a narrative-driven action RPG steeped in ancient Chinese mythology,” GameScience explained. “This title aims to provide players with unique experiences and mechanics that push our boundaries, while also implementing new ideas and improvements to overcome shortcomings from the past.”

Currently, Black Myth: Zhong Kui remains in the early stages of production, and no release window has been announced. You can check out the debut teaser trailer below:

Developed by GameScience, “Black Myth: Zhong Kui” — the second mainline title in the Black Myth franchise — was revealed today with its first CG teaser trailer, debuting live during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025.
This single-player action role-playing experience takes its creative foundation from the legendary Chinese mythological figure “Zhong Kui.” Since the project is still at an early stage, no gameplay footage is being shown at this time.

Black Myth: Wukong, the breakout action hit, launched last year on PC and PlayStation 5, achieving over 10 million sales within its first three days. The Xbox Series X|S edition is set to release on August 20, 2025.
