Where to find the Dead Drop for Digging Up Dirt

The dead drop Celeste is looking for can be found at the Santa Maria Houses point of interest, located in the southern section of Buried City. The good news is that this POI tends to be relatively quiet in most raids. As long as you avoid drawing attention to yourself, you should be able to move through the area without too much resistance.

The dead drop itself is located inside the building shown above. However, if you attempt to enter from the ground floor, it will seem like there’s no obvious way in. Instead of forcing your way through the lower level, approach the structure from the southern side. From there, you’ll notice an open attic window that provides the access point you need.

To reach it, use the improvised bridge that connects to the building. Walk across until you’re roughly halfway over, then mantle up onto the roof. Once you’re positioned properly, drop down through the open attic window to enter the upper level of the house. Inside, you’ll find a zipline that allows you to descend to the next floor below.

After sliding down and entering the interior, you’ll arrive in a large square room with sand covering much of the ground floor. In the very center of this room sits the dead drop you’re after. Simply hop down, interact with it, and the Digging Up Dirt quest objective will be marked as complete.

With Celeste’s request handled, your next priority should be extraction. Fortunately, both Southern Station and Eastern Station are fairly close to this location, giving you two viable escape options. Choose whichever route feels safer based on current activity and make your way out quickly. You’ll want to avoid lingering too long, as the timer running low can bring increased ARC presence—or worse, another raider looking to capitalize on your distraction.
