Arc Raiders Dormant Barons Quest Guide

Early in the Arc Raiders questline, you’ll receive a task that sends you out to locate and loot a Baron Husk. The Dormant Barons quest might sound intimidating at first—after all, larger Arc machines can be pretty terrifying—but there’s no need to stress. These massive units are long destroyed, meaning they pose no direct threat while you’re scavenging their remains. That said, actually tracking down a Baron Husk can take some time if you’re not sure where to look—unless you follow our guide below. Where to find Baron Husks

Baron Husks are enormous, ruined Arc machines scattered across several maps. However, the safest and most beginner-friendly place to search for them is Dam Battlegrounds. This is the very first map you unlock at the start of your journey, making it the most accessible option. Dam Battlegrounds features three separate Baron Husk locations, giving you multiple chances to complete the objective. We’ve highlighted their positions on the map below.

We recommend heading toward one of the Baron Husks on the left side of the map. The husk located near the Breach sits in a highly exposed area and is frequently watched over by a Sentinel turret, which can quickly ruin your run if you’re not prepared. Taking the safer route will reduce unnecessary risks and make completing the quest much smoother.

As you approach a Baron Husk, listen closely for a faint, low rumbling roar. This sound indicates that the husk hasn’t yet been breached and looted. To begin the process, climb onto the rounded upper section of the machine by using its fallen legs as a ramp. Once on top, interact with the breach point located in the center.

Warning: After successfully breaching the husk, it will ignite briefly. As soon as the animation completes, jump off immediately and give it a moment. The flames only last a short time, but staying on top during this sequence can cause unnecessary damage. Wait until the fire dies down completely before climbing back up.

Once the flames are gone, return to the top of the Baron Husk and interact with the center again to claim your loot.

Baron Husks typically reward you with Arc Alloy, Arc Powercells, and various other Arc-related crafting materials. While these resources can be useful early on, most players won’t find it worthwhile to farm Baron Husks repeatedly after finishing the Dormant Barons quest. The same materials can generally be gathered more efficiently through other activities and points of interest.
