Once Human is a free-to-play multiplayer survival game by Starry Studios, set in a post-apocalyptic environment. With its expansive map, navigating the game world can be quite time-consuming without fast travel options. Thankfully, Once Human incorporates a fast travel system through its Teleportation Towers. This article provides a detailed overview of Teleportation Towers in Once Human, including how to unlock them, their locations, and their overall utility.

What is a Teleportation Tower?

Teleportation Towers are vital landmarks in Once Human, enabling players to traverse the vast game world without needing to explore every inch manually. They serve as the game’s version of the fast travel system found in many role-playing games. However, accessing these towers comes with specific requirements.

Unlocking Teleportation Feature in Once Human

To activate teleportation in Once Human, players need to first complete the introductory tutorial titled "Eve of Evolution." This tutorial typically takes around an hour to finish, so set aside some time to progress through it. After completing the tutorial, follow these steps to unlock the teleportation feature:

  1. Finish the crafting tutorial.
  2. Create your first weapon: a crossbow.
  3. Defeat the Siren attacking Mitsuko’s base.
  4. Progress further in the storyline.
  5. Accept the mission requiring you to gather materials from a nearby ruin.
  6. Speak with Mary to obtain the schematic for your first gun.

Once you complete these steps, Mary will direct you to return to your base. At this point, you can activate the teleport feature by pressing F (default action key). When near a Teleportation Tower, you can press either F or G. Pressing G allows you to switch between worlds (servers).

Limitations of Using Teleport

While teleportation is incredibly useful, there are several limitations to consider:

  • You can only teleport to your base or to another Teleportation Tower.
  • Teleportation consumes energy; the further you travel, the more energy is required.
  • Teleportation has a ten-minute cooldown period.
  • You can teleport back to your base from anywhere.

Locating Teleportation Towers in Once Human

Teleportation Towers are typically found near settlements and areas where bosses spawn. Be careful not to confuse Teleportation Towers with Rift Anchors. While they serve similar purposes, they are separate entities and are often located close to one another. Below are some locations where you can find Teleportation Towers in the game. This list is not exhaustive but offers a solid starting point:

  • Deadsville
  • Securement Silo Alpha
  • Gaia Cliff Monolith Danger Zone
  • High Bank
  • Greywater Camp
  • Mirage Monolith Danger Zone
  • Throughville
  • Sunbury Middle School
  • Dayton Wetlands

What are the Purposes of Teleportation Towers?

Beyond fast travel, Teleportation Towers allow players to switch servers, enabling them to join friends or reset resource availability. This streamlined system eliminates the need for returning to the title screen to select a new server, as seen in many other games.

Additionally, changing servers can help players regain access to rare items or resources that may have been taken by other players in their current server. This is especially useful when hunting for elusive Deviants, such as the highly sought-after Extradimensional Cat Deviant.
