If you enjoy watching things explode, upgrading your Explosive Station in Arc Raiders is something you’ll definitely want to focus on. This station unlocks a solid variety of grenade options, but progressing it requires collecting several materials of different rarities. One of the later upgrades, Explosive Station III, asks for three Laboratory Reagents, which can take some effort to track down.
Below are some of my preferred places to scavenge when I’m hunting for those probably-not-safe bottles of chemicals to toss into a backpack already full of explosives and sharp objects.
Laboratory Reagents are classified as a Medical material. This means you’ll have a better chance of finding them at points of interest marked with the plus sign icon. Some of the strongest locations to search include:
Hospital and Research in Buried City

Testing Annex in Dam Battlegrounds

Out of these options, the Hospital stands out as the most reliable location. It’s currently the only major point of interest that is strictly Medical-focused, which means the loot pool isn’t diluted with other material types. As a result, your odds of finding Laboratory Reagents are noticeably higher here. The downside is that its popularity attracts other players, making encounters with fellow Raiders fairly common.
If you’re playing solo, that isn’t always a bad thing. The community tends to be cautious and often avoids unnecessary fights, especially in solo runs. While there’s never a guarantee you won’t end up bleeding out on the floor, I personally haven’t been dragged into a firefight during my solo Hospital runs so far. Trios, on the other hand, tend to turn the area into an absolute warzone, so plan accordingly.
Tip: Both the Hospital and the Testing Annex have lifts or tunnel exits nearby, making them excellent escape routes if things start going sideways.
Research in Buried City serves as a solid backup option. The building has multiple lootable floors and usually only a light ARC presence, which makes it safer than it might initially appear. Plaza Rosa also displays the Medical icon, but despite several visits, I’ve yet to see a single Laboratory Reagent spawn there. To make matters worse, ARC units often patrol heavily around the outside of the complex.

If you want a change of pace, the Testing Annex in Dam Battlegrounds is my personal go-to spot for Medical materials. While it’s much smaller than the Hospital, the second floor is packed with searchable desks, drawers, and containers. This location is where I found most of my Medical items overall, including Rusted Shut Medical Kits, Antiseptic, and, of course, Laboratory Reagents.
You can safely skip Spaceport and The Blue Gate if your goal is strictly farming Medical materials. Neither map offers a dedicated Medical-focused location, so your time is generally better spent running Buried City or Dam Battlegrounds instead.
Note: Keep in mind that Laboratory Reagents are never guaranteed to spawn, even if high-value locations like the Hospital appear completely untouched. Sometimes RNG just isn’t on your side, so don’t get discouraged if it takes a few runs to collect all three bottles you need.
