Riot Games has unveiled patch notes for League of Legends update 14.22, bringing significant changes this week to the ARAM game mode and introducing the new champion, Ambessa, just in time for the release of Arcane Season Two.

The patch is heavily inspired by Arcane, featuring a highly anticipated ARAM overhaul celebrating the new season. This update reimagines the ARAM map as the Bridge of Progress, straight from the show, complete with fresh visuals, quests, and gameplay twists for fans to explore. The previewed images give a stunning look, especially for those who are fans of Arcane, making this a particularly exciting update.

One of the patch’s highlights is the arrival of Ambessa, a new champion debuting as part of the Arcane festivities. Known from the first season, Ambessa looks primed for an even larger role in the upcoming season, which premieres in just a few days. In-game, she’s a versatile top laner with impressive mobility, as each of her abilities appears to offer some movement potential, making her an intriguing new addition to the Rift.

Beyond these themed updates, there are some notable gameplay adjustments worth mentioning. Mid and side lane minion waves will now sync up less as the game progresses, creating more roaming opportunities for mid laners who can join side lanes for ganks while still managing their own wave.

Warwick has also received attention in this patch, with an increase in model size and a series of quality-of-life improvements. Meanwhile, Vi, a fan-favorite, has received a buff — likely to tie in with Arcane's launch, although Riot has yet to confirm this is deliberate.

The full patch notes also cover item adjustments and tweaks to various summoner spells, making it worth a read for those interested in the finer details. However, after Worlds, many players might feel like taking a short break before diving back in. But once the new season of Arcane starts, fans will likely be eager to return to Summoner’s Rift, ready for more League of Legends action.
