Arc Raiders features a huge variety of materials that players will need to collect over time, and for many raiders, it can feel overwhelming trying to decide what loot is actually worth extracting with. While you’ll constantly run into uncommon and rare-tier materials during your raids, the real prizes are the Epic materials. Marked with a pink color, these items are the second-rarest materials in all of Arc Raiders and are required to craft some of the most powerful gear available in the game.
One of the most important Epic materials you should be looking out for is the Magnetic Accelerator. If you plan on tackling Arc Raiders’ more difficult encounters and endgame challenges, building up a solid stash of Magnetic Accelerators is essential. Below, we’ll break down the most reliable ways to obtain Magnetic Accelerators while exploring the wasteland.

When it comes to finding Magnetic Accelerators, these are not items you’ll regularly discover just by looting random points of interest. While it’s certainly possible to stumble upon one during normal scavenging, this approach is far from consistent. There is, however, one location with a surprisingly high drop rate, though even that isn’t something you should rely on exclusively.
Spaceport’s Rocket Assembly area stands out as one of the best places across all four maps to hunt for Magnetic Accelerators and other Epic-tier materials. In particular, a cluster of red lockers located on the northwestern side of the main hangar has shown a noticeably high chance of spawning Epic items like the Magnetic Accelerator. While it’s never guaranteed, these lockers have repeatedly produced Epic materials for me whenever the area hasn’t already been looted.
That said, the most reliable ways to obtain a Magnetic Accelerator come from higher-reward activities rather than standard looting. These include:
All of these activities, events, and world conditions offer significantly better loot quality compared to simply roaming the map. While it’s still possible to find a Magnetic Accelerator through regular scavenging, it’s not a method I recommend depending on. If you’re serious about farming Magnetic Accelerators, Night Raids and Electromagnetic Storm Raids are especially effective, as they double loot quality and greatly increase your chances of securing Epic-tier materials.
For players who prefer a safer and more controlled approach, Magnetic Accelerators can also be crafted once your Refiner reaches Level 3. Although this requires collecting higher-end materials like Motors and Bombardier Cells, reaching this milestone makes crafting a Magnetic Accelerator much more straightforward.
To craft Magnetic Accelerators, you’ll need the following materials:
At the time of writing, Magnetic Accelerators cannot be purchased from any trader, making Refiner upgrades especially valuable. Since the Magnetic Accelerator is required to craft nearly every Epic-tier weapon in the game, stockpiling them early is highly recommended. Having a healthy reserve will pay off once you start pushing into tougher endgame content, including major encounters like the ARC Queen.
