Agility will quickly become one of your most valuable skills in OSRS. No matter what content you enjoy most—skilling, PvM, questing, or general account progression—you’ll constantly be on the move. And constant movement means constantly draining your run energy. One of the most effective ways to reduce that frustration is by training Agility.
Beyond being arguably the most useful utility skill in the game, Agility is also one of the most accessible 99s you can achieve. You won’t need to spend massive amounts of gold to train it. Aside from a few optional resources here and there, this is a relatively budget-friendly grind. That said, it is extremely click-intensive. And it’s long. Very long. This OSRS Agility Guide will walk you through the most efficient path from 1–99.
This guide does not include every single Agility method available across Gielinor. Many of them simply aren’t worth your time. Lace up your tracksuit and get those running shoes ready—it’s time to train Agility.
Most quests that reward Agility experience fall into the intermediate or grandmaster category. Many of them require moderate to high Agility levels already. By the time your account can complete those quests, the Agility experience rewards become fairly insignificant.
Technically, you can reach level 33 Agility entirely through questing by completing Recruitment Drive, The Tourist Trap, The Depths of Despair, and The Grand Tree. However, there are several drawbacks to this approach:

Below are all Rooftop Agility Courses available for leveling the skill efficiently.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown of leveling Agility from 1–99 primarily through Rooftop Courses.
Roughly 13.5 laps at the Gnome Stronghold Agility Course will bring you to level 10. Experience rates here peak around 8,000 XP per hour, so once you hit level 10, it’s best to move on immediately.
This is your first Rooftop Course, which means you’ll begin collecting Marks of Grace.
Expect approximately 9,000 XP per hour here. From level 10, you’ll need around 102 laps to reach level 30 Agility. At level 20, the Al-Kharid Rooftop Course offers slightly better experience—but only if you’re using stamina potions. Early in the grind, that investment usually isn’t worth it.
At Varrock, stamina potions start becoming more worthwhile. With optimal play, you can achieve roughly 13,200 XP per hour. It takes about 101 laps to progress from 30 to 40 Agility.
Reaching level 40 presents an important decision point. If your goal is to prioritize obtaining the Graceful outfit, remain at Canifis until level 60. Reaching level 60 requires approximately 968 laps. Experience rates range from 14,000 to 19,000 XP per hour.
If you’re focused strictly on experience, you can remain here until level 52, which takes about 360 laps.
Canifis is widely considered the best mid-level course for farming Marks of Grace. Keep in mind that Marks of Grace drop rates decrease significantly once your Agility level exceeds the course requirement. When you are 20 levels above the minimum, the drop rate is reduced by 80%. Returning later for Marks is not efficient.
If you chose the experience-focused route, transition to the Falador Rooftop Course at level 50–52 Agility. Peak experience rates here reach around 26,000 XP per hour. Completing roughly 392 laps will get you to level 60.
Another decision point arrives here. From level 52/60 onward, optimal training depends on two factors:
Skillers may consider pausing after obtaining Graceful. Level 70 is the highest Agility requirement for quests, and pushing beyond that becomes slower without broader account progression.
If you’re a low-level account or haven’t completed the Kandarin Hard Diary, you should remain here until level 80. Without the Seers’ Bank Teleport, you can expect around 45,000 XP per hour.
Pollnivneach becomes available at level 70, but it requires more attention and precision. After accounting for failures, its experience rates are only marginally better than Seers’ Village.
With access to the Seers’ Village Bank Teleport, experience increases to roughly 55,000–56,000 XP per hour. Stay here until level 62 or 72 if you plan to access The Hallowed Sepulchre—or until you’ve gathered enough Marks of Grace for Graceful. Otherwise, remain until 80.

The Hallowed Sepulchre is the most efficient Agility training method in the game all the way to 99. It also provides excellent profit potential. However, it requires completion of the Sins of the Father master quest and benefits from having a high Thieving level.
This is also the most mechanically demanding Agility activity in OSRS. There are five floors, requiring 52, 62, 72, 82, and 92 Agility respectively.
Unlike Rooftop Courses, which are repetitive lap-based clicking, Hallowed Sepulchre requires active movement, trap dodging, timing, and precision. RuneLite plugins can be extremely helpful.
Once comfortable with the mechanics, you must choose between maximizing profit or maximizing experience. Profit can exceed 2 million GP per hour, making it very attractive.
If combining profit and experience, rates surpass alternatives at level 82 Agility, reaching around 65,000 XP per hour. At level 92, looting while training can yield approximately 75,000 XP per hour.
If focusing purely on experience and skipping loot, you can reach roughly 65,000 XP per hour starting at level 72. However, skipping loot becomes significantly more worthwhile only at level 92, where experience can reach 90,000–95,000 XP per hour.
If you cannot access Hallowed Sepulchre and want Marks of Grace, Rellekka is your best option.
Even with a completed Graceful set, Marks are useful for recoloring pieces or exchanging for amylase crystal packs. These can be used to create stamina potions or sold for profit.
If experience is your only goal, Seers’ Village remains better at level 80 since it becomes impossible to fail. Rellekka has frequent failures. Expect around 50,000–54,000 XP per hour.
Skillers cannot access this course without completing The Fremennik Trials quest.
For Marks of Grace farming, Ardougne is the best location in the game.
This course has the highest base Marks of Grace drop rate in OSRS. Completing the Elite Ardougne Diary increases that rate by 25%.
Experience rates range from 59,000–62,000 XP per hour. This course is ideal if you want Marks or if you’re a level 3 skiller pushing 99.

If you prefer passive Agility gains while training Fishing, Barbarian Fishing is an option.
Heavy Rod Fishing requires 48 Fishing, 15 Agility, and 15 Strength. Bare-Handed Fishing requires 55 Fishing, 15 Agility, and 35 Strength. Both methods provide small amounts of Agility and Strength experience alongside Fishing.
Training Fishing to 99 exclusively through Barbarian Fishing will naturally push your Agility level to 70+ by the end. That satisfies every Agility quest requirement in the game. However, earning Marks of Grace afterward will be far less efficient, so this path isn’t recommended if Graceful is your goal.
There’s no sugarcoating it—training Agility to 99 is a serious commitment. Make sure you’ve got music, podcasts, or playlists lined up. Even at Hallowed Sepulchre, peak experience rates are slower compared to most other skills, with Runecrafting being one of the few comparable grinds.
Still, the payoff is absolutely worth it. Faster run energy restoration improves every activity in the game. It may take time, patience, and countless laps, but when you finally achieve 99 Agility, you’ll feel every step of that accomplishment.
