Welcome to our detailed OSRS Bandos Guide, where we share the most effective strategies for taking down General Graardor. Whether you’re aiming for high-value drops or simply want the thrill of a God Wars Dungeon boss fight, this guide covers everything from required items to skill recommendations and tactics for both solo and team runs.
Although we list recommended levels, having stats above these thresholds will make the Bandos fight significantly smoother and more profitable.

Before facing Bandos, there are some hard requirements and several strongly advised preparations.
To enter the God Wars Dungeon, you must complete the Death Plateau quest. In addition, you either need to finish Troll Stronghold or defeat ‘Dad’ within that quest.
Your first trip will also require a rope to access the dungeon. To get inside Bandos’ chamber, you’ll need 70 Strength. We also highly recommend at least 43 Prayer for access to protection prayers, which are critical during the encounter.
For better survival chances, aim for 80–90 Hitpoints, 80+ Attack, 70+ Defence, 80+ Ranged, and 75+ Magic. Soloing Bandos benefits greatly from even higher stats — more on that in the solo strategy section.
Taking on General Graardor alone can be a serious challenge. We recommend a minimum of 100 combat level and ideally 99 Ranged. Since his bodyguards deal dangerous magic damage, wearing melee-only armour will put you at a disadvantage — defensive ranged gear is the way to go.
For a smoother solo run, bring the best gear you can access.
Use Saradomin brews only during breaks in the fight and rely on anglerfish during combat. Lower-tier setups are possible, but expect a much tougher battle without top-tier gear — or bring allies instead.
In group fights against Bandos, cooperation is key. Choose at least one dedicated tank and one or more DPS players. The tank should ideally use a Helm of Neitiznot or a Verac’s helm, paired with an amulet of fury, a ranging cape or max cape, an Armadyl chestplate, and Armadyl chainskirt (or Verac’s plateskirt as an alternative). An Armadyl crossbow and an Elysian spirit shield are strongly recommended for the tank role.
Barrows gloves and Guardian boots are solid additions, along with a good ring such as an Archers ring or Ring of the gods (i). Tanks should bring roughly 12 Saradomin brews, 8 super restores, 5 ranged potions, a teleport tab, diamond bolts, and a Bones to Peaches tablet for emergency food during extended fights.
DPS players will run a slightly different loadout.
DPS should also carry 12 Saradomin brews, 8 super restores, 3 super combat potions, Bones to Peaches tabs, and runes for high-level alchemy.
Bandos offers some of the best boss drops in OSRS. Many players farm General Graardor not only for valuable gear but also for the rare and prestigious pet.
Drop chances indicate probability per kill — meaning luck could get you the Bandos pet early, but it’s more common for it to take thousands of kills.
We hope this OSRS Bandos Guide helps you prepare for and conquer General Graardor. With the right stats, gear, and strategy, this boss can be one of the most rewarding encounters in the game.
