PoE 2: Guide to all Permanent Buffs from the Campaign

Overview

Path of Exile 2’s campaign offers a variety of quests and optional bosses that grant your character permanent buffs. However, some of these buffs are easy to overlook as they aren’t always highlighted during gameplay.

This guide provides a detailed breakdown of all the permanent buffs you can obtain by completing the Campaign on both Normal and Cruel difficulties.

List of Permanent Buffs

By the end of the Campaign, you can acquire the following permanent buffs:

• +20% to All Resistances (Don’t miss the Lightning Resistance buff, as it’s often overlooked)
• +24 Weapon Set Skill Points
• +100 Spirit
• +20 Maximum Life
• +8% Increased Maximum Life
• Choose One (Can be changed later, available twice):
  +30% Increased Charm Charges
  +15% Increased Mana Recovery from Flasks
• Choose One (Permanent choice):
  +25% Increased Stun Threshold
  +30% Increased Elemental Ailment Threshold
  +25% Increased Mana Regeneration Rate
• Choose One (Permanent choice):
  +10% Chaos Resistance
  +5 to All Attributes
  +15% Reduced Slowing Potency of Debuffs

Each buff source and the method to unlock it are detailed below. Unless stated otherwise, buffs are granted twice—once in Normal difficulty and again in Cruel. Note that the buffs granted during Cruel may differ slightly.

Permanent Buff Map Icons

To help players track their progress, the World Map features icons that indicate content tied to permanent buffs. These icons appear on the bottom left or right of the map symbols, and once the task is completed, the icon will be grayed out.

While every World Map is procedurally generated and unique to each player, the icons remain consistent:

• Skull Icons: Indicate Campaign or optional bosses
• Large Skull Icons: Mark Act bosses
• Chest Icons: Represent guaranteed loot
• Miscellaneous Icons: Denote side quests

Act 1 & Act 4

• Clearfell – Beira of The Rotten Pack
  Buff: +10% Cold Resistance
  Requirement: Kill the optional boss
• Hunting Grounds – Crowbell
  Buff: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  Requirement: Kill the optional boss
• Freythorn – The King in the Mists
  Buff: +30 Spirit
  Requirement: Complete Rituals to summon the boss, then defeat it
• Ogham Farmlands – Una’s Hut
  Buff: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  Requirement: Deliver Una’s Lute to Una
• Ogham Manor – Candlemass, The Living Right
  Buff (Normal): +20 Maximum Life
  Buff (Cruel): +8% Increased Maximum Life
  Requirement: Kill the optional boss

Act 2 & Act 5

• Keth – Kabala, Constrictor Queen
  Buff: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  Requirement: Kill the optional boss
• Valley of the Titans
  Buff: Choose One (Choice can be changed by revisiting the location):
  +30% Increased Charm Charges
  +15% Increased Mana Recovery from Flasks
  Requirement: Insert two relics (Kabala Clan Relic and Sun Clan Relic, found in Keth and The Bone Pits, respectively)
• Deshar – Final Letter
  Buff: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  Requirement: Deliver the letter to Shambrin
• The Spires of Deshar – Sisters of Garukhan Shrine
  Buff: +10% Lightning Resistance
  Requirement: Explore the map and interact with the shrine

Act 3 & Act 6

• Jungle Ruins – Mighty Silverfist
  Buff: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  Requirement: Kill the optional boss
• The Azak Bog – Ignagduk, The Bog Witch
  Buff (Normal): +30 Spirit
  Buff (Cruel): +40 Spirit
  Requirement: Kill the optional boss
• The Venom Crypts – Venom Draught
  Buff (Normal): Choose One (Permanent choice):
  +25% Increased Stun Threshold
  +30% Increased Elemental Ailment Threshold
  +25% Increased Mana Regeneration Rate
  Buff (Cruel): Choose One (Permanent choice):
  +10% Chaos Resistance
  +5 to All Attributes
  +15% Reduced Slowing Potency of Debuffs
  Requirement: Deliver the Venom Vial to Servi
• Jiquani’s Machinarium – Blackjaw, the Remnant
  Buff: +10% Fire Resistance
  Requirement: Use a Small Soul Core to open the boss’s room and defeat Blackjaw
• Aggorat – Blood Sacrifice
  Buff: +2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points
  Requirement: Find the Sacrificial Heart from a monster drop and use it at the altar
