Just a week after Episode Revenant launched in Destiny 2, Guardians finally get to dive into the highly anticipated Vesper's Host dungeon. This activity is designed for a 3-player fireteam and will put your skills to the test. For the first time ever in dungeon history, a Day One Race has been introduced—complete it on the same day it launches, and you can earn exclusive rewards. This guide aims to help you do just that, while also showing you how to locate every Vesper's Host secret chest and maximize your loot and triumph gains.
This complete walkthrough will cover all encounter mechanics, loot table rewards, and exact locations of the Vesper's Host secret chest. Plus, we’ll dive into the new Solar Sniper Exotic, Ice Breaker, and the latest armor set you can earn in the dungeon.
Before diving deeper, make sure to check out our most popular service where you can buy Vesper's Host Day One Boost from Gamer Choice at the best market price. With our PROs on your team, the dungeon will be cleared in no time, earning you the exclusive Day One badge and loot well ahead of the curve.
To begin, assemble a fireteam of three. Vesper’s Host becomes available Friday, October 11, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Access requires the Final Shape Dungeon Key. Visit Spider in the Last City hub (formerly HELM) and accept the “Rogue Network” quest to unlock it.
Once the key is obtained and the quest completed, you’re ready to begin your descent into the dungeon.
The first boss, Raneiks Unified, challenges you with buffs and quick decision-making. Right before you place your rally banner, you'll see panels with numbers—these are essential later.
Once inside, you'll be teleported to a different arena where Raneiks becomes invulnerable. The core of the encounter involves managing the Viral Operator and Suppressor buffs, which drop from enemies clearly marked with the buff's name.
Once the Suppressor damages Raneiks, he splits into several invulnerable Servitors. Each Servitor has a number; identify two glowing ones and match those numbers with the panels you saw earlier. Shooting the correct panels starts the damage phase. Repeat this four times and ensure the boss is defeated by the final phase, or your fireteam will wipe.
This encounter emphasizes puzzles and enemy control. The Puppeteer hides behind an invulnerable shield, while number-based puzzles block your progress.
Glowing numbers around the room represent door panels. Clues found in the environment determine the correct sequence. Shoot the right sequence to unlock doors.
Once doors open, eliminate waves of enemies to reach a room with a bomb. Transport it to the bunker room for detonation.
Dunking the bomb in the bunker sets off an explosion that weakens the boss's shield. Time is short—act fast.
Post-explosion, use the elevator to reach an upper arena where you finally get to damage the boss. Each damage phase removes about 15% of the Puppeteer’s HP.
Repeat the entire cycle, solving the puzzle, transporting the bomb, and damaging the boss until he’s defeated. Expect increasing difficulty and more enemy spawns as the fight continues.
To find every Vesper's Host secret chest, you must first complete the dungeon and start the Rogue Network quest from the final terminal. You’ll then be tasked with collecting three messages.
Interact with the terminal left of the final chest to start the quest.
After collecting the messages, you’ll obtain a First Level Access token. Use it to open the Vesper's Host secret chest in the servitor maze.

All the secret chests in Vesper’s Host are tied to the Rogue Network quest, so this section also acts as a walkthrough for its completion. To begin unlocking the second secret chest, progress beyond the second encounter. Near the Brig area, jump across the platforms and turn around midway—here you’ll find the first number pad on the wall. A fourth number pad is located near the top of this area, between circular plates N9 and N10. After activating all required pads, proceed to the second security clearance door from earlier in the dungeon.

On the wall next to the door, you’ll see four numbers displayed. Nearby, an operator buff is available—grab it to gain the ability to interact with the number pads beneath. Activating these pads lets you reveal numbers 1 through 4.
To unlock the second chest:
Opening this chest also progresses your quest, sending you back to Spider. The code “42” refers to the class item labeled with “Tech Notice 42.” Each piece of loot in the dungeon has its own corresponding number that can be entered in this same room. To find them, check your Collections tab, go to Badges, then select Vesper’s Host to view associated items and their numbers. This system allows for guaranteed drops each week by entering the correct code.
Once you’ve obtained the second chest, restart the dungeon to begin solving the additional puzzles tied to the third secret chest. After the first encounter, head back to the heart room, where terminals holding augment buffs are located. In this area, you’ll notice red numbers and blue screens displaying digits. Your goal is to find four blue numbers that add up to the red number on the left side of the screen.

Example: If the left-side number is 13, shoot 6, 4, 1, and 2 to reach the total. Each player's puzzle will be slightly different. Once the sum is correct, you’ll earn an Ascended Alloy and an additional message.
Continue through the dungeon. After navigating the Servitor Maze and before jumping across a major gap, turn around and shoot the blue numbers to pause them. While it may not always be mandatory to hit all four pads here, it’s safer to do so for progression.
After crossing the gap, you’ll reach a room with another operator terminal. In this puzzle room, you’ll see red numbers and two columns of blue numbers. The red number on the right side indicates what value you must reach by multiplying four selected blue numbers together.

Example: If the target is 84, shoot 4, 3, 7, and 1, since 4 × 3 × 7 × 1 = 84. Solving this unlocks another Ascended Alloy and message.
Next, head toward the stairs near the security clearance door. Defeat any nearby enemies, and you’ll arrive at a more complex puzzle setup. This puzzle features two red number sets on either side, and six central blue panels each displaying a number. You need to find two sets of four numbers—one set whose sum matches the left red number, and another set that can be multiplied to reach the right red number.

Example: If the central goal is 255, check for divisor combinations like 15 and 17.
Solving both sides rewards another Ascended Alloy and one more message toward the quest's progress.
After completing these tasks, return to the level two security door in the upcoming room. With the operator buff active, you’ll now be able to input three different numbers to target specific armor drops if you wish.
Before finalizing any weapon focusing, take a detour—head outside the main path and instead of dropping to the lower platforms, turn left to locate a narrow opening in the wall. Inside, you'll find a secret room with a central chest surrounded by four numbered pillars. For simplicity, label these pillars as: Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right.

To complete this final puzzle, follow these shooting instructions:
Once you complete this final series correctly, the last chest will unlock and reward you with bonus materials and quest completion progress.
