When World of Warcraft's Update 11.0.7 goes live on December 17, 2024, a rare two-seater mount is set to return to the MMORPG.
According to dataminers, Blizzard developers have updated the source for the X-53 Touring Rocket, a mount that can seat up to two players. Originally, this mount was a reward from World of Warcraft's "Recruit-A-Friend" program.
The program works as follows: each time one of your recruited friends adds game time to their account, you make progress toward earning a new reward. The more friends you recruit, the easier it is to collect all the goodies.
Currently, the incentives include the Rocket Shredder 9001 mount for six completed monthly subscriptions. However, the X-53 Touring Rocket has not been obtainable through this method for quite some time.
The X-53 Touring Rocket is expected to arrive at the Trading Post sometime after the release of Update 11.0.7. It will cost 100 Trader’s Tender, but you might have to wait until February 2025 to snag it.
The X-53 Touring Rocket was briefly available at the Trading Post for a few weeks in February 2024. February holds special significance because WoW launched in Europe in February 2005. Considering the ongoing celebrations for the MMORPG's 20th anniversary, this timing adds even more meaning.
