Arc Raiders Combat Recon Quest Guide

Arc Raiders frequently sends players out to investigate different points of interest across its many maps, but it doesn’t often ask you to perform full-scale reconnaissance on one of the game’s most dangerous ARC units. In Combat Recon, you’ll be heading into the Buried City to scout several locations before eliminating a Bombardier’s helpful little Spotters. It’s a risky job, but if you’ve made it this far, you’re more than capable of handling it.

Before deploying, we strongly recommend running a loadout that includes a safe pocket. As part of this quest, you’ll need to retrieve and extract with a Spotter Relay from one of the Spotters you destroy. Keeping it protected in your safe pocket can save you a lot of frustration if things take an unexpected turn.

Once you’re geared up and ready to begin your recon mission, follow the steps below to complete Combat Recon.

Scope out a cover spot in the Parking Garage Staircases

The first recon objective takes you to the staircases inside the Parking Garage. Although you can climb the stairs manually to reach the upper levels of the POI, the quickest and safest route is usually to take the zipline in the center of the garage and walk the remaining distance from there.

Near the door that leads into the staircase area, you’ll find an interactable spot. Use it to scout the area and complete the first recon objective.

Scope out a cover spot in the Bushes near Marano Park

Your next destination is Marano Park, located roughly in the center of the Buried City map. This area is more open, so be mindful of enemy patrols as you move in.

On the left side of this wide, open space, you’ll see several buses parked alongside a nearby building. Head over to this area and interact with the marked spot to scout another potential cover location.

Scope out a cover spot in the Attics around Main Street

For the final recon location, travel south to Plaza Rosa. From there, climb onto the roof of the building shown on the map and drop down into the attic space below.

Inside the attic, approach the window that overlooks the plaza. Interact with the prompt here to scout the final area and wrap up the recon portion of the mission.

Destroy two Spotters

With all recon points completed, it’s time to deal with the Spotters. These drones can be found flying around the Bombardier that patrols Marano Park, close to the same area where you previously investigated the buses. Two Spotters will circle the Bombardier within a fixed range.

If possible, use high-damage or heavy weapons to take them down quickly. For example, the Anvil can usually destroy a Spotter in just two well-placed shots.

Keep in mind that Spotters will mark your position and significantly improve the Bombardier’s targeting accuracy. Make sure to use solid cover while engaging them. Once both Spotters are destroyed and the Bombardier has fully de-aggroed, you can safely approach their remains and loot a Spotter Relay, which is required for the final step of the quest.

Deliver a Spotter Relay to Shani

To finish Combat Recon, extract and return to Speranza with a Spotter Relay in your inventory. Ideally, you stored one in your safe pocket earlier, just in case things went south during the fight. Either way, get it back safely and deliver it to Shani to complete the mission.
