Deathbringer Stance

Aatrox's attacks deal an additional 4-12% max health as magic damage (depending on level) and restore 80% of damage dealt as health, reduced to 25% against minions. This effect has a 24-12 seconds cooldown (depending on level). Attack and ability hits against champions and large jungle monsters reduce this effect's cooldown by 2 seconds. Hits with the edge of The Darkin Blade reduce it by 4 seconds instead.

If they are hit on the edge, they are briefly knocked up and they take 60% bonus damage instead. This ability can be recast twice, each one changing shape and dealing 25% more damage than the previous one.

Champions and large jungle monsters have 1.5 seconds to leave the impact area or be pulled back to the center and damaged again for the same amount.
W

E
World Ender

World Ender

Aatrox reveals his true demonic form, fearing nearby minions for 3 seconds and gaining 60 / 80 / 100% movement speed decaying by 10% every 0.25 seconds. He also gains 20 / 30 / 40% bonus attack damage and increases self-healing by 50 / 75 / 100% for the duration. Aatrox General Information

Aatrox Tips and Tricks

Try to play around your Passive and trade when it’s available. Avoid extended fights unless your Passive is up, as you'll miss out on extra damage. Utilize your Umbral Dash (E) to reposition for The Darkin Blade (Q) sweet spots, dashing forward, backward, or sideways. Play cautiously at level 1, then start playing aggressively from levels 2 to 6. Aatrox is a strong early-game champion, so take advantage of his power spike.

The Best Aatrox Builds, Runes, and Items for Top

Most Popular

For the most effective Aatrox Top build, take Flash and Teleport as your Summoner Spells. Your primary runes should include Conqueror as the keystone, followed by Triumph, Legend: Haste, and Last Stand in the primary tree, with Bone Plating and Revitalize in the secondary tree. Rune shards should be Adaptive Force for offense, Adaptive Force for flex, and Health Scaling for defense, though this may vary based on the matchup.

For items, start with Eclipse, followed by Plated Steelcaps and Sundered Sky. Your final three items should be Sterak's Gage, Death's Dance, and Spirit Visage. Max your abilities in this order: Q → E → W.

Alternative

If you're looking for a variation, take Flash and Teleport as your Summoner Spells. Use Conqueror as your keystone, with Triumph, Legend: Haste, and Last Stand in the primary tree, and Bone Plating with Revitalize in the secondary tree. Your rune shards remain Adaptive Force, Adaptive Force, and Health Scaling.

For items, start with Sundered Sky, followed by Plated Steelcaps and Spear of Shojin. Round out the build with Sterak's Gage, Death's Dance, and Black Cleaver. Stick to the same ability order: Q → E → W.

Off-Meta

For an off-meta Aatrox build, use Flash and Teleport as Summoner Spells. Stick with Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, and Last Stand in the primary rune tree, with Bone Plating and Revitalize in the secondary tree. Shards should be Adaptive Force, Adaptive Force, and Health Scaling.

For items, build Voltaic Cyclosword first, then Plated Steelcaps, followed by Spear of Shojin. Finish with Serylda's Grudge, Sterak's Gage, and Death's Dance. Max your abilities Q → E → W.

Situational Aatrox Runes and Items

Your build should adapt based on your matchup, enemy team composition, and game state. Consider swapping rune shards for Armor or Magic Resist, depending on the champion you're laning against. Always evaluate your game carefully to optimize your setup for the best performance!
