Gnar Champion Abilities
Rage Gene
Gnar generates 4 / 7 / 11 Rage by dealing and receiving damage. At max Rage his next ability transforms him into Mega Gnar for 15 seconds.
Mini Gnar: Gain 0-20 bonus movement speed, bonus attack speed and 0-100 bonus attack range (depending on level).
Mega Gnar: Gain 100-831 max health, 3.5-54.5 armor, 3.5-63 magic resist and 8-50.5 attack damage (depending on level).
At max Rage, Gnar will automatically transform after 4 seconds if he does not use an ability. Rage decays after 13 seconds if Gnar has not dealt or received damage. Rage gain is greater when dealing damage to champions.
P
Boomerang Throw / Boulder Toss
Boomerang Throw: Gnar throws a boomerang that deals 5 / 45 / 85 / 125 / 165 (+1.25 per attack damage) physical damage and slows by 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35% for 2 seconds. The boomerang returns after hitting an enemy, dealing reduced damage to subsequent targets. Each enemy can only be hit once. Catching the boomerang reduces its cooldown by 40%.
Boulder Toss: Gnar hurls a boulder, dealing 45 / 90 / 135 / 180 / 225 (+1.4 per attack damage) and slowing by 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50% for 2 seconds to the first enemy hit and surrounding enemies. Picking up the boulder reduces this ability's cooldown by 70%.
Q
Hyper / Wallop
Hyper: Every third attack or ability on the same enemy deals an additional 0 / 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 (+100% of ability power) plus 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 14% of target's max health as magic damage and grants 20 / 40 / 60 / 80% movement speed decaying over 3 seconds.
Wallop: Gnar smashes an area, dealing 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 (+1.0 per attack damage) physical damage and stunning for 1.25 seconds.
W
Hop / Crunch
Hop: Gnar leaps, gaining 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60% attack speed for 6 seconds. If Gnar lands on a unit he will bounce off it, traveling further. Bouncing off an enemy deals 50 / 85 / 120 / 155 / 190 plus 6% of max health as physical damage and briefly slows by 80% for 0.5 seconds.
Crunch: Gnar leaps, dealing 80 / 115 / 150 / 185 / 220 plus 6% of max health as physical damage to nearby enemies on landing. Enemies directly underneath are also briefly slowed by 80% for 0.5 seconds.
E
GNAR!
Mini Gnar Passive: Increase Hyper's movement speed.
Mega Gnar: Gnar tosses nearby enemies, dealing 200 / 300 / 400 (+100% of ability power) (+0.5 per bonus attack damage) physical damage, knocking back, and slowing them by 60% for 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 seconds. Enemies that hit a wall instead take 50% bonus physical damage and are stunned.

Gnar Tips and Tricks
When playing against melee champions, use your range to harass and poke them. Once they have 2 stacks on them, make sure to auto-attack or use your Q to trigger your W. Try to delay team fights while stacking your Rage Bar. Once it's full, force a fight before reverting to Mini Gnar. Before using your E aggressively, always check the mini-map to ensure the enemy Jungler is not nearby, as overextending can lead to dangerous ganks.
The Best Gnar Builds, Runes and Items for Top
Most Popular
For Summoner Spells, Flash and Teleport are ideal. The recommended rune setup is Grasp of the Undying as your keystone, with Demolish, Bone Plating, and Overgrowth in the primary tree. As for items, start with Trinity Force, then build Plated Steelcaps and Black Cleaver. Finish with Sterak's Gage, Randuin's Omen, and Thornmail. Stick to the skill order of Q - W - E.
Optional
Another option for Gnar Top build is to take Flash and Teleport as Summoner Spells. For runes, go with Fleet Footwork as your keystone, followed by Triumph, Legend: Alacrity, and Last Stand in the primary tree, and Bone Plating with Overgrowth in the secondary tree. Rune shards should consist of Attack Speed in offense, Adaptive Force in flex, and Health Scaling in defense. For items, start with Trinity Force, followed by Plated Steelcaps and Black Cleaver. Complete the build with Sterak's Gage, Randuin's Omen, and Wit's End. The skill order should remain Q - W - E.
