Lux Champion Guide

Role: Mage

Lane: Midlane

Lux Support performs best with a build featuring Zaz'Zak's Realmspike, Sorcerer's Shoes, Luden's Companion, Stormsurge, and Shadowflame. The most effective rune setup for Lux Support includes Arcane Comet, Manaflow Band, Transcendence, and Scorch in the primary tree, paired with Cheap Shot and Ultimate Hunter in the secondary tree.

Lux Champion Abilities

Illumination

Illumination

Lux's damaging abilities mark enemies for 6 seconds. Lux's attacks consume the mark, dealing 30-200 (+30% of ability power) (depending on level) magic damage.

Final Spark will consume marks on enemies it hits and refresh them.
P
Light Binding

Light Binding

Lux releases a sphere of light that immobilizes and deals 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+65% of ability power) magic damage to up to two enemy units for 2 seconds.
Q
Prismatic Barrier

Prismatic Barrier

Lux throws her wand to a target location, bending the light around herself and any friendly champion it touches by granting a 45 / 65 / 85 / 105 / 125 (+35% of ability power) damage shield for 2.5 seconds. After reaching maximum range, the wand returns to Lux, shielding herself and any friendly champion it touches for the same amount again. The second shield stacks with the first shield while also refreshing the shield duration.
W
Lucent Singularity

Lucent Singularity

Lux creates a light zone that slows by 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45% and reveals the area. After 5 seconds or on recasting this ability, it detonates, dealing 65 / 115 / 165 / 215 / 265 (+80% of ability power) magic damage and slowing for an additional 1 second.
E
Final Spark

Final Spark

After gathering energy for a half second, Lux fires a beam of light that deals 300 / 400 / 500 (+100% of ability power) damage to all targets in the area and reveals it. It ignites and refreshes Lux's Illumination debuff if it hits enemies already afflicted.

Lux can Flash while casting Final Spark though her ultimate won't follow her when she flashes.

Lux Tips and Tricks

Stick with your team at all times to siege and poke together. Avoid isolating yourself in a side lane, as you'll be an easy target for enemies. Before engaging in a team fight, poke the enemy as much as possible with your abilities. Since Lux is a poke champion, the more damage you deal beforehand, the easier the fight will be. As your Ultimate has a short cooldown, use it in skirmishes when you land your Q, but be mindful of your mana.

Lux Best Build, Runes, Items for Mid

Most Popular

For the most effective Lux mid build, take Flash and Teleport as your Summoner Spells. Arcane Comet is the preferred keystone, followed by Manaflow Band, Transcendence, and Scorch in the primary tree, with Cheap Shot and Ultimate Hunter in the secondary tree. Rune shards should be Adaptive Force in offense, Adaptive Force in flex, and Health Scaling in defense. Luden's Companion should be your first item, followed by Sorcerer's Shoes and Stormsurge. The final three items are Shadowflame, Rabadon's Deathcap, and Void Staff. The optimal ability order is E first, then Q, followed by W.

Optional

Another viable Lux mid build includes Flash and Teleport as Summoner Spells. This build also uses Arcane Comet as the keystone, with Manaflow Band, Transcendence, and Scorch in the primary tree, and Cheap Shot with Ultimate Hunter in the secondary tree. Rune shards remain Adaptive Force in offense, Adaptive Force in flex, and Health Scaling in defense. Malignance should be built first, followed by Sorcerer's Shoes and Stormsurge. The remaining items are Shadowflame, Rabadon's Deathcap, and Void Staff. The ability order remains E first, then Q, followed by W.

Alternative

For an alternative approach, Flash and Teleport are still the recommended Summoner Spells. Dark Harvest is the preferred keystone, supported by Cheap Shot, Grisly Mementos, and Ultimate Hunter in the primary tree, with Manaflow Band and Transcendence in the secondary tree. Rune shards should be Adaptive Force, Adaptive Force, and Health Scaling. The item build starts with Luden's Companion, followed by Sorcerer's Shoes and Stormsurge. The final items are Shadowflame, Rabadon's Deathcap, and Void Staff. The ability order remains E first, then Q, followed by W.

Off-Meta

For an off-meta Lux mid build, Flash and Teleport are still the recommended Summoner Spells. This setup takes Electrocute as the keystone, with Cheap Shot, Grisly Mementos, and Ultimate Hunter in the primary tree, and Manaflow Band with Transcendence in the secondary tree. Rune shards should be Adaptive Force, Adaptive Force, and Health Scaling. Luden's Companion is the first completed item, followed by Sorcerer's Shoes and Stormsurge. The final three items are Shadowflame, Void Staff, and Rabadon's Deathcap. The preferred ability order is E first, then Q, followed by W.

Situational Lux Runes and Items

Lux’s build can be adjusted depending on the enemy team composition, game state, and lane matchup. Adjust rune shards accordingly, selecting Armor or Magic Resist based on the type of damage you will be facing. Choosing the right situational items can significantly impact your effectiveness in team fights and overall survivability.
