    Vex Champion Abilities

    Doom n Gloom

    Doom n Gloom

Every 25-16 seconds (depending on level) Vex becomes afflicted with Doom, causing her next basic ability to interrupt dashes and fear enemies for 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 seconds (depending on level).

Whenever a nearby enemy dashes or blinks, Vex marks them with Gloom for 6 seconds. Vex's next attack against a gloomed enemy deals an additional 40-150 (+25% of ability power) magic damage and reduces this ability's cooldown by 25%.

    Mistral Bolt

    Mistral Bolt

Vex launches a wave of mist that deals 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+70% of ability power) magic damage. After a delay, the wave becomes smaller and faster. Consumes Gloom on enemies hit.

    Looming Darkness

    Vex commands Shadow to fly to a location, increasing in size as it travels. Upon arriving, it deals 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 / 130 (+40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60% of ability power) magic damage and slows by 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50% for 2 seconds. Applies Gloom to enemies hit.

    Shadow Surge

    Shadow Surge

Shadow excitedly surges forward, dealing 75 / 125 / 175 (+20% of ability power) magic damage and marking the first enemy champion hit for 4 seconds.

Recast: Dash to the marked champion, dealing 150 / 250 / 350 (+50% of ability power) magic damage on arrival. If the marked champion dies within 6 seconds of taking damage from this ability, its cooldown is temporarily reset.

    Vex Tips and Tricks

Whenever an enemy uses a dash, make sure you deal damage to them as you can deal extra damage to marked targets. Use your R on targets that are moving across the map. Reactivating your R once they leave will allow you to follow them and possibly even out the numbers at the fight. Use your W to block abilities that deal large amounts of damage. Do not use it to block small damage like auto-attacks early.

Vex Best Build, Runes and Items

    Most Popular

If you want to use the most popular Vex Mid build, you should take Flash and Teleport as your Summoner Spells. For runes, you should pick Electrocute as your keystone, followed by Taste of Blood, Grisly Mementos and Ultimate Hunter in the primary tree, as well as Manaflow Band and Transcendence in the secondary tree. For rune shards, you want Attack Speed in offense, Adaptive Force in flex and Health Scaling in defense, though it depends on the matchup. Finally, for your items, you should build Luden's Companion as your first item, followed by Sorcerer's Shoes and Shadowflame. For your last 3 items, you should build Zhonya's Hourglass, Rabadon's Deathcap and finish with Void Staff. For the skill order, you want to stick with Q - W - E.

    Alternative

If you're looking for alternatives, you can use Flash and Teleport as your Summoner Spells, with runes being Dark Harvest as your keystone, Taste of Blood, Grisly Mementos and Ultimate Hunter in the primary tree, and Manaflow Band with Transcendence in the secondary tree, as well as Attack Speed, Adaptive Force, and Health Scaling as your rune shards. The items that this build incorporates are Luden's Companion as your first item, then Sorcerer's Shoes as a second item and Shadowflame as a third item. You want to finish the build with Zhonya's Hourglass, Rabadon's Deathcap and Void Staff. As far as ability max order goes, you want to keep it Q - W - E.

    Off-Meta

If you want to try an Off-Meta Vex Mid build, try Flash and Teleport as your Summoner Spells, Arcane Comet, Manaflow Band, Transcendence and Scorch as your primary rune tree, and Legend: Haste with Cut Down as your secondary tree. Use Attack Speed, Adaptive Force and Health Scaling as your shards. For items in this build, you want to complete Luden's Companion as your first item, then finish Sorcerer's Shoes as your second item, and Shadowflame as third item. The last 3 options are Zhonya's Hourglass, Rabadon's Deathcap and Stormsurge. The ability order for this build is Q - W - E.

    Situational Vex Runes and Items

Depending on the context of your game, your matchup, and enemy champions, you might want to consider building some situational items or taking specific runes. Carefully examine your team, enemy team, game state, and your matchup to plan your Vex build accordingly. For example, when it comes to rune shards, you might want to take either Armor or Magic Resist, depending on which champion you are about to lane against.
