Zaahen Top performs well with a core build of Trinity Force, Plated Steelcaps, Sundered Sky, Sterak's Gage, and Death's Dance. The most common rune setup for Zaahen Top features Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste, and Coup de Grace in the primary tree, paired with Bone Plating and Revitalize in the secondary tree.

Zaahen Champion Abilities

Cultivation of War

Zaahen's attacks and abilities against enemy champions grant him stacks of Determination for 5 seconds gaining 1.5–3.3% bonus attack damage per stack, stacking up to 12 times for a total of 36–79.2% bonus attack damage. The stacks expire by 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 every 5 seconds.

When filled with Determination, Zaahen gains can revive and will restore 30-75% of his maximum health. P

Zaahen slashes twice on his next attack, dealing 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 (+1.0 per attack damage) (+30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70% per bonus attack damage) bonus physical damage and restoring 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9% of his maximum health.

Recast: Zaahen's next attack deals 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70% per attack damage) bonus physical damage and knocks the target up for 0.75 seconds. Q

Passive: Zaahen gains 10 / 20 / 30% armor penetration.

Active: Zaahen rises, gaining 50% damage reduction while casting. Zaahen then stabs downward, dealing 250 / 400 / 550 (+2.0 per bonus attack damage) physical damage and restoring 33% of the damage dealt to enemy champions as health. R

Zaahen Tips and Tricks

Get as many stacks on your Passive as possible and then play aggressively, as you become much stronger than most enemy champions. Zaahen’s level 1 is extremely powerful, especially with a few Passive stacks and your The Darkin Glaive Q ready. Look for an early aggressive play to gain control of the lane. Zaahen excels in all-ins and extended trades, so try to keep the wave closer to your side of the map to create opportunities to chase enemies down the lane.

Most Popular

The standard Zaahen Top build uses Flash and Teleport as Summoner Spells. Take Conqueror as your keystone, followed by Triumph, Legend: Haste and Coup de Grace in the primary tree, with Bone Plating and Revitalize in the secondary tree. For rune shards, choose Attack Speed in offense, Adaptive Force in flex and Health in defense. Build Trinity Force first, then Plated Steelcaps and Sundered Sky. Finish with Sterak's Gage, Death's Dance and Overlord's Bloodmail. Max abilities in the order Q - E - W.

Alternative

An alternative setup also uses Flash and Teleport. Run Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste and Coup de Grace in the primary tree, with Bone Plating and Revitalize secondary. Take Attack Speed, Adaptive Force and Health as your shards. Start with Blade of The Ruined King, followed by Plated Steelcaps and Trinity Force. Finish with Sundered Sky, Death's Dance and Overlord's Bloodmail. Max abilities in the order Q - E - W.

Off-Meta

For an off-meta Zaahen Top approach, use Flash and Teleport. Take Conqueror, Triumph, Legend: Haste and Coup de Grace in the primary tree, and Bone Plating with Revitalize in the secondary tree. Use Attack Speed, Adaptive Force and Health for rune shards. Begin with Eclipse, then Plated Steelcaps and Sundered Sky. Complete the build with Death's Dance, Sterak's Gage and Spear of Shojin. Max abilities in the order Q - E - W.

Situational Zaahen Runes and Items
