Where to Find Rusted Gears in Arc Raiders

Rusted gears are already hard enough to find in Arc Raiders, especially when everyone and their nan is hunting them down to upgrade their Gunsmith bench. These rusted gears feel oddly rare in a post-apocalyptic world filled with abandoned factories, broken machines, and rusting vehicles scattered all over topside.

That said, there’s some good news and some bad news when it comes to farming rusted gears. The good news is that there’s a very lucrative route through Buried City that can often reward you with two, three, or sometimes even more rusted gears in a single run. The bad news is that it’s not a fast route, mostly because of the amount of breaching you’ll need to do along the way.

Below, I’ll break down the route and explain exactly where you should be looting to stock up on rusted gears efficiently. Once you’re done gathering what you need, you’ll also find yourself conveniently close to a metro, making extraction quick and relatively safe.

Where to find Rusted Gears in Arc Raiders

Rusted gears can be found inside cars and generators, both of which appear frequently across all Arc Raiders maps. Because of this, the most reliable way to farm rusted gears is to focus on areas with a high density of vehicles and machinery. The best locations for this are Warehouse, Marano Station, and the Parking Garage in the northwest section of Buried City. These areas are packed with generators and cars, allowing you to breach them one by one and consistently find rusted gears during each run.

Starting with Warehouse, you’ll want to head to the eastern side of the building. Here, you’ll find two generators positioned right next to each other. Based on repeated runs, both of these generators have a very high chance of containing rusted gears, making this spot one of the most reliable parts of the route.

After clearing Warehouse, move over to Marano Station. Your main focus here should be the car park on the northern end of the station. Breach every car hood you can find, as there are plenty of vehicles packed into this area. It’s not the quickest section, but the number of cars gives you a strong chance of walking away with multiple rusted gears. While you’re at Marano Station, it’s also worth checking the station platform itself, as it’s a solid loot spot that can provide additional rewards.

Finally, head to the Parking Garage. Your goal here is simple: loot every car across all floors of the structure. This location is excellent for farming rusted gears, but it does come with some added risk. Be careful of the Bombardier, which can often spawn on the top of the garage or patrol the nearby streets and park outside. Clear carefully, take your time, and you’ll usually leave with a healthy supply of rusted gears.
