Arc Raiders Straight Record Quest Guide

Arc Raiders is packed with quests that send players topside to repair old tech and infrastructure, all in an effort to help those sheltering below prepare to reclaim the world from the ARC. One such mission is called Straight Record, a quest given by Celeste that takes you into the Dam Battlegrounds to reactivate an old EMP. To get this done, you’ll need to locate the EMP itself and power it back up by flipping several nearby switches. If you’re having trouble tracking them all down, Gamer Choice has you covered. Here’s exactly how to complete the Straight Record quest in Arc Raiders.

Where to find the old EMP Trap for the Straight Record Quest

Completing the Straight Record quest does not require you to extract, so you can safely drop into the raid using a free loadout. This helps you avoid losing valuable gear in case you’re taken out by ARC enemies or rival raiders while working through the objective.

Your first objective in Straight Record is to locate the old EMP trap in the Victory Ridge area. This location sits on the upper-left portion of the map, just slightly southwest of the West Broken Ridge point of interest. Getting there is fairly straightforward, although you may run into other players attempting the same quest. Whether you choose to fight them off or cooperate is entirely up to you.

Once you reach the area, you’ll notice a tall, narrow machine with cables and wires wrapped around its frame. This device is the old EMP. Interact with it, and you’ll quickly discover that it isn’t powered on yet, which kicks off the next stage of the quest.

Where to find the Power Switches for the Straight Record Quest

To bring the EMP back online, you’ll need to activate three separate power switches. Fortunately, all of them are located close to the EMP itself, so you won’t have to travel far to find them.

The first switch is located on a small cliff just to the north of the old EMP. You can reach it by walking around the outer edge of the cliff. Interact with the switch to turn it on.

The second switch can be found slightly east of the EMP, positioned on a partially collapsed structure. Use the nearby debris to climb up to the second level of the structure, where you’ll find the switch waiting to be activated.

The third and final switch is located a short distance south of the EMP. It sits right next to a tree, making it easy to spot once you’re in the area. Flip the switch to power it on.

After all three switches have been activated, head back to the old EMP one last time. Interact with it again to finish the Straight Record quest.

With the mission complete, you can choose to stick around and loot the surrounding area or make your way toward the North Complex Elevator to the northeast to extract safely. Whichever option you choose, stay alert—other raiders may still be nearby and looking for an easy target.
