Arc Raiders Water Troubles Quest Guide

Arc Raiders features a multi-quest narrative centered around contaminated water, and the entire storyline kicks off with the Water Troubles quest. This mission sends you into the Dam Battlegrounds with the goal of securing a water sample—but without clear direction, it can be surprisingly tricky to figure out where to go. To save you some unnecessary confusion, we’ll walk you through exactly how to collect the water sample step by step.

You won’t need to extract in order to complete this quest, so feel free to deploy with a free loadout if that’s your preference. Doing so helps ensure you won’t lose any valuable gear if things go sideways while you’re navigating the Dam Battlegrounds.

Where to find the Flood Access Tunnel

The first objective in Water Troubles is locating the Flood Access Tunnel. You’ll find it within the Red Lakes area on the right-hand side of the map. The tunnel sits just to the right of the Control Tower POI, meaning you can either approach it on foot from below or descend toward the Red Lake by sliding down the terrain or using a nearby zipline.

Where to find the Intake to the District's Water Supply

After reaching the lower section of the map, keep an eye out for a large opening carved into the concrete wall beneath the Control Tower POI. This massive structure serves as the intake to the district’s water supply and is hard to miss once you’re in the right area.

Where to collect the Water Sample

Head inside the tunnel and follow the straightforward path until you come across a pool of grimy, contaminated water. Once inside, look to the pipe on the left-hand side and interact with it to collect the water sample required for the quest.

With the water sample secured, you’re free to return to Speranza. The Red Lakes Balcony Lift located to the southeast is a solid extraction option, but proceed with caution. This area often contains ARC patrols as well as other raiders scavenging the nearby Testing Annex. Taking a stealthy approach can go a long way toward making sure you get out safely.
