Arc Raiders features a wide variety of quests, and one particular chain tasks you with uncovering who is responsible for contaminating the local water supply. As you progress through that investigation, you’ll eventually reach A Toxic Trail, which sends you back to a familiar location to dig deeper into the mystery surrounding the polluted water. In this guide, we’ll walk you through exactly how to complete A Toxic Trail from start to finish.

Although extracting from the map isn’t strictly required to finish A Toxic Trail, it’s generally a smart move—especially if you don’t have a safe pocket available for the key you’ll obtain at the end. While this key isn’t mandatory for any current quests, it can be extremely useful later on when you’re exploring Spaceport and looking for valuable loot opportunities.

How to complete A Toxic Trail in Arc Raiders

Your first objective in A Toxic Trail is to return to the same drain where you previously discovered the suspicious barrel during the Source of the Contamination quest. This barrel is located outside the Water Treatment Center on the Dam Battlegrounds map. The easiest way to approach it is from the north, moving in through the swamp area. Refer to the map below for the precise location.

This time around, you don’t need to interact directly with the barrel. Instead, step into the contaminated water and move around in it briefly. After a few moments, the next objective will trigger, instructing you to locate clues about where the barrel originally came from. Thankfully, the next lead is only a short distance away.

Head slightly west from the drain area and you’ll quickly spot a truck sitting partially submerged in the swamp water. It stands out clearly in the open environment, but we’ve also marked its exact position on the map below to make things easier.

Approach the truck and interact with the prompt that appears to take a photograph of it. Once you’ve snapped the photo, you’ll receive your final objective: search the truck for evidence tied to the sabotage of the water supply. Interact with the truck’s door to uncover a Spaceport Warehouse Key. Make sure to pick it up and store it in your safe pocket if possible, as it can be quite valuable for securing better loot during future Spaceport runs.

With that, the quest objectives are complete. You can now extract using the nearby Central Swamp Lift. Be cautious when approaching this extraction point, as it’s a common spot for other raiders to camp. Stay alert and prepared for potential encounters. After successfully returning to Speranza and turning in the quest, you’ll unlock the follow-up mission titled The Stench of Corruption. Completing that quest is necessary if you’re aiming to obtain the Warden outfit.
