Taric Champion Guide

Role: Support

Lane: Support

Table of Contents

Taric Support performs best with a build featuring Dream Maker, Boots of Swiftness, Locket of the Iron Solari, Winter's Approach, and Knight's Vow. The most effective rune setup for Taric Support includes Glacial Augment, Magical Footwear, Biscuit Delivery, and Cosmic Insight in the primary tree, paired with Conditioning and Revitalize in the secondary tree.

    Taric Champion Abilities

    Bravado

    Bravado

Taric infuses his next two basic attacks whenever he casts an ability. He swings faster with these two attacks, which deal 25-93 (at levels 1-18) (+15% of bonus armor) bonus magic damage and reduce his base spells' cooldowns by 1-0.6 seconds (scales down with CDR).
    P
    Starlights Touch

    Starlight's Touch

Passive: Taric stores a charge of Starlight's Touch every 15 seconds, up to a maximum of 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 charges stored at once. Starlight's Touch cannot be cast without charges.

Bravado-empowered attacks reduce Starlight's Touch's cooldown by 1 second and instantly grant a charge.

Active: Taric spends all charges to heal himself and all nearby allies for 30 (+20% of ability power) (+1.5% of Taric's maximum health) per charge.
    Q
    Bastion

    Bastion

Passive: Bastion increases the armor of Taric and the champion he is linked with by 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10% of Taric's armor.

Active: Taric links with an ally, shielding them for 8 / 9 / 10 / 11 / 12% of their maximum Health for 2.5 seconds. Bastion remains on Taric's ally until he recasts it onto another ally, or the two move far enough apart to break their link.

While linked, all of Taric's abilities are simultaneously cast from both Taric and his linked ally, though the effects do not stack.
    W
    Dazzle

    Dazzle

Taric fires out a short wave of celestial energy in a target direction which, after 1 second, deals 90 / 130 / 170 / 210 / 250 (+50% of ability power) (+50% of bonus armor) magic damage to all enemies struck and stuns them for 1.25 seconds.
    E
    Cosmic Radiance

    Cosmic Radiance

Taric calls on the stars themselves for protection. After a 2.5 second delay, he and all nearby allies are granted invulnerability for 2.5 seconds.
    R

    Taric Summoner Spells

    Flash

    Flash

Flash is a location-targeted summoner spell that causes your champion to blink to the location in range of your cursor.
    Ignite

    Ignite

Ignite is a unit-targeted summoner spell that burns an enemy champion for a few seconds, dealing periodic true damage, applying healing reduction, and revealing the target over the duration.

    Taric Tips and Tricks

Good times to use your E are when the enemy has used a dash ability or have positioned themselves near a wall. This makes it harder for them to dodge your E without using Flash. Don’t wait too long to use your R, as it’s better to use it early to protect you rather than dying mid-channel. Keep an eye on your mana throughout the laning phase and team fights, as your abilities, especially Q, cost a lot of mana. Running low on mana will prevent you from healing your ADC or team effectively.

    Taric Best Build, Runes, Items

    Most Popular

For the most popular Taric Support build, take Flash and Ignite as your Summoner Spells. Pick Glacial Augment as your keystone, with Magical Footwear, Biscuit Delivery, and Cosmic Insight in the primary tree. For the secondary tree, take Conditioning and Revitalize. For rune shards, use Attack Speed in offense, Health Scaling in flex, and Health Scaling in defense, depending on your matchup. Start with Dream Maker, followed by Boots of Swiftness and Locket of the Iron Solari. Complete the build with Winter's Approach, Knight's Vow, and Vigilant Wardstone. The skill order should be E, Q, and W.

    Optional

Your second option for Taric Support would also involve Flash and Ignite as your Summoner Spells. Keep Glacial Augment as your keystone, along with Magical Footwear, Biscuit Delivery, and Cosmic Insight in the primary tree. For the secondary tree, use Conditioning with Revitalize. Rune shards should be Attack Speed in offense, and Health Scaling in flex and defense. Start with Solstice Sleigh, followed by Plated Steelcaps and Locket of the Iron Solari. Finish with Winter's Approach, Knight's Vow, and Vigilant Wardstone. For abilities, continue with E, Q, and W in that order.

    Alternative

For an alternative build, take Flash and Ignite as your Summoner Spells. Use Glacial Augment as your keystone, along with Magical Footwear, Biscuit Delivery, and Cosmic Insight in the primary tree. In the secondary tree, choose Conditioning and Revitalize. Rune shards should be Attack Speed, Health Scaling, and Health Scaling. For items, begin with Celestial Opposition, followed by Plated Steelcaps and Locket of the Iron Solari. Complete the build with Winter's Approach, Knight's Vow, and Vigilant Wardstone. The ability order is E, Q, and W.

    Off-Meta

If you're looking to try an off-meta Taric Support build, take Flash and Ignite as your Summoner Spells. Choose Guardian as your keystone, with Font of Life, Bone Plating, and Revitalize in the primary tree. For the secondary tree, select Legend: Haste and Presence of Mind. Rune shards should include Attack Speed and Health Scaling. Build Celestial Opposition first, followed by Plated Steelcaps and Locket of the Iron Solari. Complete the build with Winter's Approach, Knight's Vow, and Vigilant Wardstone. The ability max order remains E, Q, and W.

    Situational Taric Runes and Items

Depending on the game context, matchup, and enemy champions, you may want to adjust your items and runes. Assess both teams and the current game state carefully to decide what to build. For example, consider taking Armor or Magic Resist rune shards based on your lane opponent’s damage type.
